New Project Support from U.S. Mission Turkey Grants Program
27 December 2022We are pleased to announce that the project “She4Cyber: Breaking the Gender Bias and Empowering Women in Cybersecurity”, coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Salih Bıçakcı from KHAS International Relations department has been funded by the U.S. Mission Turkey Grants Program.
She4Cyber aims to increase the capacity and competitiveness of women in the cybersecurity sector by providing education, decreasing the gender gap in Turkey through enhancing employability, and tackling gender-biased practices by creating awareness.
Dr. Bıçakcı is the project coordinator of She4Cyber. Two graduate students will be supported throughout the project. Two institutional partners also support She4Cyber: SistersLab, a Turkish NGO that carries out activities to ensure gender equality and women’s empowerment in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), and the Diana Initiative, a Las Vegas-based non-profit corporation working to promote diversity and inclusion in cybersecurity.
We congratulate our faculty member for his achievement and wish him success.
