Assoc. Dr. Akın Ünver Elected as a Board Member of the International Studies Association

Assoc. Prof. Akın Ünver from the Department of International Relations has been elected for the Board of International Studies Association – ISA, which is headquartered in the US and one of the biggest and most reputable institutions in the field of International Relations. Founded in 1959 and having more than approximately 7000 members from 100 countries who work in the field of International Relations, International Studies Association contains global conferences, academic journals and research groups of the International Relations discipline.

ISA Board members are nominated after being selected among the academics conducting significant works both regionally and globally about the International Relations and takes this office when they are voted most in the elections attended by the ISA members. Assoc. Prof. Ünver will serve as ISA Board member for two years, from 2022 to 2023. Therefore, Kadir Has University has become one of the very few universities providing multiple members for the ISA Board. Previously, Kadir Has University Head of Department of International Relations Prof. Dr. Sinem Akgül-Açıkmeşe was also included in the ISA Board from 2019 to 2020.
